Patrol Division

 

 

The Elbert County Sheriff's Office consist of 4 shifts which handle calls for service from citizens of Elbert County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Deputies work 12 hour shifts where there are 4 deputies assigned to both of the night shifts and 3 deputies assigned to each of the day
shifts. Before becoming a deputy you must complete a 10 week police academy course and upon graduation you will be assigned to field training supervisor where you work for 7 weeks before being
considered assignment to a shift.  After 2 years of outstanding performance a deputies supervisor may submit forms and documentation to be promoted to deputy first class (DFC).

 

The Elbert County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division has worked everyday answering calls pertaining to burglary, domestics, lost/stolen items, and accidents.  This division can do it all. From January 1, 2007 - June 30, 2007, the Patrol Division's calls have been 6% theft of an automobile, 23% Criminal Trespass, 26% Burglary, and 45% Theft By Taking.
